Learning more about individuals with exceptional abilities opened my eyes to several different disabilities, their federal definitions, information about diagnosis, and additional resources in the Triad and Triangle area. This specific experience also improved verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and my sense of empathy. Click the resources tab and learn more!

Special Projects

The University of North Carolina Greensboro is a public university under the North Carolina State Health Plan. Employee are provided with several resources and opportunities to participate in activities. One particular resource which is beneficial to the insititution and companies alike is the Health Risk Assessment (HRA). This social marketing campaign was conducted to increase EPA and SPA employee's voluntary participation in Health Risk Assessment. To learn more click here:

Recommended by Professors within the Public Health Education Department for my public speaking and adult learning lectures to conduct presentations on sexual health education for HEA 201: Introduction to Health students. This presentation was used for adult students ages 18-64 enrolled in spring and fall semesters.  As an advocate for the Great American Condom Campaign this lecture series allowed me to provide over 500 condoms and education materials to students each semester.

2013 Graduate Poster Session

As part of the Capstone/Thesis experience, students participate in an internship in which they acquire on their own in the field of interest and speak with preceptors at the organization. Needs of the organization, primary stakeholders, and members are taken into consideration in the development of internship activities.​

Students meet several public health competencies by completing this poster such as the dissemination of information to the public.
